About the data

KitchenTenders is a free, independent tracker of UK public-sector tenders and contract awards for catering equipment, commercial kitchen fit-out and refurbishment, canteens, kitchen ventilation and catering-equipment repair and maintenance.

Sources and licence

All notice data comes from the UK government's official open data feeds, published in the Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS):

• Find a Tender OCDS API (Cabinet Office) — above-threshold and Procurement Act 2023 notices, including many from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
• Contracts Finder OCDS search API (Cabinet Office) — lower-value opportunities and awards in England.
• Public Contracts Scotland and Sell2Wales OCDS data (Open Government Licence), via the bulk files the Open Contracting Partnership Data Registry collects from their official APIs. These currently run to spring 2026; newer Scottish and Welsh notices above threshold appear via Find a Tender.
• Older Find a Tender and Contracts Finder awards (2021 onwards) for the contracts ending soon list and the framework calendar, from the same Data Registry bulk files.
• Republic of Ireland: Contract Notices Published on eTenders (Office of Government Procurement), licensed under CC BY 4.0. Values in euro, not converted. Deadlines in this dataset are dates only.

Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Notices are summarised; links go to the official notice, which is always the authoritative version. KitchenTenders is not affiliated with any government body.

Not covered: eTendersNI has no public machine-readable feed, so Northern Ireland notices appear only when also published on Find a Tender or Contracts Finder. Notices on the same procurement published on several portals are shown once.

Coming soon, ending soon

Coming soon lists pipeline, preliminary market engagement and planned procurement notices (Procurement Act UK1–UK3) and prior information notices, with the buyer's expected tender date where given. Ending soon uses contract end dates published in award notices; where only a duration is published we add it to the stated start or award date and mark the date as calculated.

How we decide what's relevant

We include a notice when its CPV codes include catering equipment (39310000 and 39311000–39315000), kitchen equipment (39221000), cooking ovens (42214000) or repair and maintenance of catering equipment (50883000), or its title clearly describes catering equipment, a commercial/school/production kitchen, a canteen or servery, kitchen extraction or ventilation, cold rooms or a kitchen refurbishment. Related construction and appliance codes (for example 45000000 works or 39711000 appliances) count only when the text matches too.

We exclude domestic and social-housing kitchen replacement programmes, food and catering services contracts, catering consumables, and laboratory freezers. Big multi-category frameworks that merely list a catering code among many are excluded unless the title is about kitchens or catering equipment. No filter is perfect — tell us if we've missed something or included something irrelevant.

Regions

Regions use the ITL/NUTS code in the notice where given, otherwise the buyer's postcode area (approximate near boundaries).
